Privacy

We collect almost nothing. The short version: no cookies, no tracking, no personal data leaves your browser.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no analytics script on this site, no tracking pixel, and no third-party JavaScript of any kind. We do not know who you are, which pages you read, or where you came from.

Each article keeps a view count: one running total per article, shown next to the reading time once it reaches 25. Opening an article adds one to that total. Nothing about you is recorded with it: no IP address, no browser details, no identifier of any kind, so the total cannot be traced back to anyone.

Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps its own standard connection logs. We do not use them to build a picture of individual readers.

Cookies

The site does not set any cookies. localStorage holds your dark-mode preference and, for each article you open, the date it was last counted, so reloading an article on the same day does not count it twice. Neither leaves your browser.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare: hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may process standard connection data (IP address, request headers) for security purposes.

That is the whole list. Fonts and images are served from this domain, so reading an article contacts nobody else.

AI in editorial

Pieces are researched, drafted and checked automatically, with Claude (Anthropic) doing the writing. The editorial note explains how that works and where a person is involved. No reader data reaches any AI service: the articles are written before you arrive, and nothing about your visit is sent anywhere.

Affiliate links

Some pieces contain affiliate links. They are disclosed where they appear. We earn a small commission if you purchase through them, at no extra cost.

Retention

Article view totals are kept for as long as the article is published. No personal data is stored or retained anywhere.

Your rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. Questions: hello@decryptd.co.
